The Value of the church...

Last week, one of our families in the church woke up to find their house on fire at 4:19 AM. Don't worry, the family is fine. The house is almost a total loss. However, I was once again astonished at how the church sprang into action in this family's time of need. Within hours, the family had Two weeks of meals lined up;  new wardrobes were purchased; TWO options of places they could stay until the end of the year; and LOTS of hugs had been given. This family was loved in incredible ways with the love of God! They WILL make it with the help of God, working THROUGH His people!         As I thought about all of this, I was reminded once again just how important it is for  you and I to realize that one of the main reasons God created the church is because WE NEED EACH OTHER! We need each other's love, support, encouragement, accountability, and prayers. We need to know, when we're going through a tough time in our lives, that someone cares about us! We need an avenue through which we can care for other people when they're down and out!  And we've got to remember as we get involved in the church, that we don't just go to church to "grow". We go there to "care". Don't miss that!
