Here are a few reflections on yesterday’s events:
- We continued our series on Relationship Rehab, based on the Beatitudes. God is really working through this series!
- “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness; for they will be filled.”
- Righteousness expresses itself in two primary ways in our lives:
Righteousness= being made tight with God.
2 Corinthians 5:21 (NLT) “For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.”
Righteousness = Doing what’s right (because we’ve been made right).
- SO Jesus’ Rx#3 for healthier happy relationships is to “BE RIGHT.”
- Be right in my responses.
Matthew 5:38-39 (NLT) “You have heard that the law of Moses says, ‘If an eye is injured, injure the eye of the person who did it. If a tooth gets knocked out, knock out the tooth of the person who did it.’ But I say, don’t resist an evil person! If you are slapped on the right cheek, turn the other, too.
Proverbs 25:21-22 (NIV) 21 If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. 22 In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the LORD will reward you.
- Be right in my routines.
“In the little interactions, habits, and relational encounters in my life, I want to live my life, including the way I relate to other people, in a way that pleases Him.”
- “We all start out in every relationship so polite, sweet and nice! Over time, however, we all tend to become mean cusses.”
- I gave you guys 24 hrs to hunger and thirst for righteousness by making one decision to BE RIGHT IN A REPONSE. BE RIGHT IN A NEW ROUTINE. How are you doing?
- Last night, we held our monthly Leadership Community and I shared some things dear to my heart and the heart of Mountain Lake with our leaders, the response has been so great! I love our leaders at MLC! Best in the world!
- I love this church! I’m thinking about joining.
